ELSIE BARLOW SKILLS COMPETITION
On Saturday 14th July 2007 Hyndburn District Cubs held the Annual Elsie Barlow Cub Skills Competition at Bowley Scout Campsite. Despite inclement weather conditions the event was attended by around 50 cubs from 7 groups. After a mornings training and preparation the weather held out for a bright afternoon of Scouting activities which started with inspection and included skills such as tracking, first aid, pioneering, map and compass, team building, & tent pitching. It was a closely fought competition with only one point between the victors St Pauls Barnfield and the runners up All Saints “C” the third being the contingent from Accy West. St Pauls Barnfield are hoping to present the trophy at a Church Parade in the near future.
